APPLICATION
A+ ABSORBENT absorbs petroleum three
times faster than the most competitive product tested. The particulate
form will absorb two times its own weight, briquettes 0.8 times their
weight. Once petroleum products are absorbed, they are retained with no
tendency to leach out. After being used to absorb used motor oil, A+ ABSORBENT
passed the US EPA TCLP tests for metals, volatiles and semivolatiles.
Either bulk form can be quickly applied to a spill.
Absorption of higher
viscosity oils is completed within two or three hours. The briquette
form is especially effective for spills on water and retains its form
and buoyancy for approximately three days.
Briquettes applied to
spills on land will retain their form for lengthy periods and through
several wetting cycles. Either form allows for timely removal.
Gasoline and other petroleum products are absorbed very quickly by A+ ABSORBENT. When the particulate form is generously applied on a volatile spill, 80 to 90% of the absorption will be complete in approximately one minute. With briquettes, the same level of absorption is reached in five to ten minutes.
A+ Absorbent will slow the release of explosive vapors from volatile fuels such as gasoline, to a fraction of the vapors released from an untreated spill.
